Takato was not a happy person. Not at all.
His father had come to think that they needed a vacation and had dragged him all the way to Izu for a weekend of "relaxation."
'If this is relaxation, I hate to see what working hard is...' Takato grouched, hiding as much as he could under the umbrella his father had placed up in the middle of the beach. It wasn't as if it would kill Takato to be out in the sun but if he didn't have a reason to, he wasn't going to bother.
He was grouching mostly of the effort it took to sneak out before sunset and hide so that his father and everyone else, didn't realize that he was Night Shadow. Lord knows that was something he didn't need.

Conan sat under the umbrella Ran had set up, laying on a beach towel and watching the others.
He hated coming to the beach. He watched Ran. Well… it wasn’t that bad. He yawned and rolled over to lay his head down and take a nap. Why had he agreed to come here? He couldn’t remember. Not like it mattered.
He only hoped Hattori would have the decency to allow him to sleep in peace.

Ai walked down the beach, two ice cream cones in hand, and headed to where Ran had set up the umbrella. She had tagged along with Conan and Ran on their vacation.
She sighed as she got near the umbrella to find Conan laying down. She stopped in front of him and poked his side with her foot. "Conan-kun, I have ice cream," she said simply. She sat down on another towl and held out the icecream in his direction.
Ai took a bite of her's a bit glad to have something to cool her off. Even with a swimsuit on, she was still warm.

Kyoshi moaned. Why did he have to be sent to the beach? He knew there was a job he had to do here, but he hated the beach. "Of all places..." he grumbled as he walked across the sand. He was wearing swimming trunks and a t-shirt, mostly just to blend in. It wasn't like he was getting in the water. He couldn't swim.
He stopped in the middle of the sand, looking around. He had the whole day to do whatever he liked, since he wasn't supposed to to anything until that night.
He sat down in a huff and crossed his arms. He was bored already; without thinking much, he started playing with the sand.

Ran was having the time of her life, unlike Takato, Conan and Kyoshi. She was currently in the water but was put out slightly by Conan's lack of enthusiasm. Therefore, she came out and came up to him.
"Come play, Conan-kun." she said, giving him a puppy dog look.
