Shinichi blinked. "Nande?" He noticed Hakuba looked pissed. "It's only hail." he pointed out as a larger piece hit the window. Shinichi stepped away from it. Suddenly the elvator shot up wards and fast. Conan lost his balance. A theory being confirmed in his head. Someone was meesing with them.
The elevator stopped at the top story. Conan's body jerked at the sudden halt. He took several deep breaths.
"I don't think the elevator's broken anymore." Conan expressed. He watched as biger pieces of hail pelted the window. Was someone wanting the hail to break through the glass? A rather sizable piece struck, causing the outer window to crack.
"Yabe." Conan breathed. Why was this happening, the weather couldn't control the elevator. Was it possible that, that person had found out that he knew? Conan had actually been on his way to borrow Kogoro's voice when he stepped on the elevator with Hakaba. It was possible that they had seen him when he did it, after all the elevator was used for the trick.
"Kuso" Conan cursed under his breath. He knew what was going on. That person was hoping to freak him out and then drop the elevator.
"Gomen." Conan told Hakuba. "It's unfair that you have to be included in this."

Shrugging off the feeling of being caught, he began walking towards the flight of stairs. Where would you be Tantei-kun? Glancing at the side, he caught sight of the elevator. An old man with a cane would never consider using the stairs he’d induce, and walk towards it. A quick glance to the right and left and he would begin to press the arrow button indicating he wanted to go up. Pressing it a few times he sighed, looking all around him.
I’m an old man with bad eye sight…. He’d say yelling to the police around him that the elevator doesn’t work. They would have to believe that he is old and delusional now. Taking a deep breath Kaito headed up the stairs slowly. He placed the cane in front of him and used that to pull himself up step by step.
This here is the crime scene? The kid should be here… as well as that other detective. The old man would wander around, examining the floor and the evidence marked around the scene. “That kid should be here…”

One of the police officers approached Kaito. "Are you sure you should be doing that?" He asked. "This really isn't the place for you to be right now, they're still investigating." He explained.

The darkened figure was making sure there was no power left in the building before shutting it down. He would drop it later. He felt only a little bad that someone uninvolved was going to be killed but pushed it aside, he was about to commit the perfect crime. He frowned as someone was trying to call the elevator. He quickly shut off all the power and went back to crime scene.

Kaito patted his pockets, ready for this to come about. He would be ready for anything, and this was something he had prepared himself for. There were always deaths occurring around when the detective boy was present so he wasn’t surprised.
“Ah sorry there my good lad….” He’d say, giving the policeman a nice smile. “I happen to be a detective and happened to stop by. A retired one, but..> I heard two sides to this case so I thought I better investigate.”

The police officer blinked. "Tantei ka?" he questioned.
"Doshite no?" A man came up to them. The police officer looked at him.
"A-ah Ando-san. This man says he's a detective." He explained. Ando looked Kaito over.
"Didn't a detective already come by? They already closed the case as suicide." He did not want anyone else investigating the case, if he found the trick that boy found... Well, he couldn't get to the elevator so it should be fine. Ando sighed. He was going to need to drop it soon, before someone found out where they were.

Kaito hid his smirk, and stood smiling as the other officer went by. That’s all he needed, more police. Had they caught on? No way, why would Kaito Kid return the same day after stealing the jewel.
“Well then I will first need to inspect around. No one can shut off a case if there are two sides here… Now what kind of justice fighters are you to call off the case when others still think its murder. Now excuse me as I unravel the truth!”
Kaito snickered. He was getting too into his role, and now he really had to find it. If only the little detective was around. The he would use him and ask him what he thinks.
Sighing, the elderly man began to limp towards the dead body, watching his footing.

((Temporary Kogoro)) Self proclaimed Great detective Mouri Kogoro stepped in a few seconds later. The body was on the ground beneath the noose. The rope marks clearly visible. A chair had been knocked over, it was probably used to jump off of. "Oi. You." The detective addressed him. "Have you seen a little brat about three feet tall with over sized glasses, and likes to play detective." He was alittle adgitated where had that boy gone too, he knew they were leaving now.

Kaito nodded at the officer and started to look around. He would kneel down at the side of the body and examine him, looking around to see if he was doing it like a ‘trained’ detective. He examined the noose as well as the marks knowing that that was, of course, the murder weapon. “He was strangled, no doubt about that…” He’d mumble. Looking at the placement, the chair was rightfully place.
The noose is beneath the victim…?
Upon hearing the grumpy Mouri, the man turned and gave him a warm smile. He would respond to his question by shaking his head, “I haven’t seen them… well anyone fitting that description sir.”
Taking a deep breath, the elderly man stood up the best he could and took out his hand to he shaken by the Great Mouri Kogoro.
“Such a great detective! Pleasure to meet you. Please, tell me about this case here. I would love to hear your view on this one.”

Kogoro shook his hand in greeting and grunted his response.
"The gem's owner commited suicide, but the brat said that was unlikey because the chair wasn't near enough. He then said something about manipulating the elevator, but they checked and couldn't find anything." Kogoro shrugged.
"Speaking of the brat. He should stop playing hide and seek, we really need to leave before the storm gets anyworse, it's already started to hail." He complained openly.

Kaito shook his head. Tantei-kun, why do you love this whole solving cases? Kaito massaged his temples, looking at the chair placement. We always know you predict wrong Oji-san. If only that were the reason, but still…
“Mouri-san, only the kid said it was suicidal?” The man would look around, looking for his prime suspects. The only one that seemed to have done it were the police men since they were in the building while the Phantom Thief struck. [i]Was he alive? Must have been… about thirty minutes after I fled….”
“Mouri-san… when did this occur?” He was getting strange glances as he just smiled and rephrased. “The time of death I mean….”

Kogoro blinked.
"Conan was the one who said it was murder." He shrugged. "The man died around an hour ago. The body was discovered about thrity minutes after death." He seemed to think for a second.
"That bright better not have gone up to the controls room again." He said, remembering Conan had run up there before disappearing.

So during my heist murder occurred. That’s bad… Nodding at what Kogoro had to say he glanced around the room now looking for an exit. “Please, lead me to the control room. I’m sure it’s vital in solving this case.
He would let the detective lead the way to the control room. What will be in there he wondered? What’s so important in this room? He asked himself.
All that is in there is… well the power of course, but how did this play a party? Shaking his head he got himself back on track. Why would the lights need to be turned off to be a murder? Either that or mask his tricks with a power outage…?

Kogoro shrugged.
"I need to find that brat." He decided. "Although, it worries me I can't find him and neither can my daughter." He slipped out. For a brief moment he wondered if Conan had gotten hurt.
"He probably got bored and went home." The detective mused. "It was clearly a suicide, so don't worry about it." Ando was watching the scene carefully, he still had the great detective fooled. Good thing that little brat had the only piece of evidence that it was a murder, and the crucial evidence would be dropped down the elevator shaft as soon as he had time to drop the two kids.

Hakuba looked wearily at Conan. "So...Someone's going after you for something?" he questioned. This wasn't good. He had to think of some way to communicate with the people outside of the elevator without notifying whoever was in control of the elevator. Hakuba banged on the door. "Hey!! Is anyone there?!!!"

"You're wasting your time." Conan said flatly. "The police are busy with the murder case, which they all think is suicide, and the kid heist." Conan had sat down, using his hands for a small bit of support.
"Unless Kid's still around and heard you. That guy has good ears." Shinichi mused, "How good, I'm not entirely sure. Good enough to pick up on a phonecall I took." He said the last bit a little bitterly.
"Stupid.. evesdropping... thief..." He muttered under his breath.
